2017 Opel Mokka Specs

The new Mokka will boast of the most impressive exteriors and better driving dynamics. The exteriors are designed to look very dynamic and the vehicle is also very responsive and does not produce much dangerous emissions. It is the perfect crossover SUV. At the front, we noticed a very nice grille that looks distinctive and is flanked by excellent headlights as well as a sharply angled windscreen. The vehicle also looks very sporty and it immediately catches the eye. At the rear, there are plenty of curves and the wraparound windows are also very impressive. These features help to improve the aerodynamics of this vehicle.

On the technology front, Opel SA could introduce “adaptive forward lighting” LED headlamps, which adapt automatically to common driving situations, on top-of-the-range derivatives. The latest IntelliLink information-entertainment system, which will be available with either the 7- or 8-inch touchscreen display, is well worth the wait. The upgraded infotainment system will also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as (at least as far as the European market is concerned) Opel OnStar security, guidance, emergency and protection services.

Simple but elegant, the interior design is headed by the perfectly constructed instrument panel. The control panel gets a more streamlined and horizontal design. Available for the two variants is the latest IntelliLink information-entertainment system, which can be paired with either the 7- or 8-inch touchscreen display. The upgraded infotainment system will also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as Opel OnStar Services.

During the development of the Opel Mokka X, Opel engineers once again followed the company’s strategy of making innovative technology available to a broad group of buyers by introducing Adaptive Forward Lighting with full LED headlamps. The new AFL LED system adapts the headlights lighting functions automatically to the driving situation so that the best possible light performance is given without glaring other drivers. It features nine different functions such as town light, country light and tourist mode. This full LED system replaces the previous BiXenon AFL+. On one hand, LED features a light quality that allows seeing the ‘true’ colors of things, to the benefit of visual comfort. In addition, as there is no mechanical operation within the lamp module, it is faster and more accurate in its reaction, while also being highly reliable over time. Furthermore, the new headlamps use less energy and are thus more economical.

The compact proportions of the new Mokka X it’s only 4.28 metres long mean it’s larger than a Nissan Juke, but smaller than a Qashqai. The newcomer’s designer, Mark Adams, endowed the X with a stronger, bold look courtesy of a wing-shaped horizontal front grille and the dominant, sharp double-wing signature of the LED daytime running lights. At the rear is another double wing signature in the tail light clusters (LEDs are optional).

When the Opel Mokka 2017 is finally released to dealerships, car enthusiasts would delight with its redesigned interior, distinctive exterior, and upgraded infotainment system. Furthermore, it would also be the very first model to get the distinctive X identification badge, which will also be present on all upcoming crossover and SUV models of the German carmaker. To sum in two words, the exterior design of the new Opel Mokka is modern and bold. Inside the Opel Mokka 2017, the styling has been completely revisited, but most obvious changes occur with the new instrument panel that is inspired by the new Astra hatchback and is fitted with a long list of safety and tech equipment.

2017 Opel Mokka Engine

Under the hood, the carmaker plans to offer a new 3-cylinder engine. This will be a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing a nice 115 horsepower. A regular 1.7-liter turbocharged engine is however able to produce about 140 horsepower. A second powertrain is also being offered in the form of a 1.7-liter diesel engine that is capable of producing 130 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. The nice thing about these powertrains is that they meet Euro 5 emission standards. Power from the engines is transferred via a 6-speed transmission that delivers power to the front wheels of the Mokka. The Mokka is quick and is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 kmh in just 10 seconds and it has a top speed of 190 kmh.

There will also be 1.7-liter turbocharged regular engine able to produce 140 horsepower, while the 1.7-liter diesel engine is capable of producing 130 horsepower and 320 pounds of torque. The most impressive part about the engine options of the car is the fact they are in line with the Euro 5 emission standard. The engines are paired with a six-speed transmission that carries power to the front wheels of the car.

The all-wheel drive system is available in combination with the well-known 1.4-liter gasoline engine with 103 kW/140 hp (NEDC cycle fuel consumption: urban 8.3-8.21 l/100 km, extra-urban 5.6-5.51 l/100 km, combined 6.5-6.41 l/100 km; 152-1491 g/km CO2) and the critically acclaimed 1.6 CDTI ‘whisper diesel’ with 100 kW/136 hp (NEDC cycle fuel consumption: urban 5.2-5.01 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.4-4.21 l/100 km, combined 4.7-4.51 l/100 km; 124-1191 g/km CO2).
