2017 Cadillac XT5 Specs

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is a five-passenger SUV available in four trim levels: XT5 (base), Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum. The base XT5 comes standard with 18-inch wheels, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, a power rear liftgate with memory height, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, a six-way power passenger seat, a 40/20/40-split sliding and reclining second-row seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition and entry, and remote engine start. Technology features include an 8-inch central touchscreen with the CUE infotainment interface, voice commands, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, OnStar (with a 4G LTE connection and WiFi hotspot capability), GM’s wireless device charging and a Bose eight-speaker sound system with satellite radio, four USB ports and an auxiliary input jack.

The XT5 has new bones so at a glance, the vehicle appears sleek, yet elegantly styled, it has a longer wheelbase but weighs less and is lower to the ground and narrower than its predecessor. Pronounced side creases, signature vertical LED headlights, high tailgate accented by boomerang-shaped taillights and the well-known company shield-shaped grille, the midsizer has an aerodynamic stance that gives it an air of sportiness.

On the interior some changes are likely although probably not major. The crossover might have all new materials and a revised cabin while still remaining spacious and luxurious as it has been in the past. Previous models have donned the Raven Sapele wood trim, now likely some other fancy wood type will be in place of the old. The base models probably will have the same leatherette seating, top models meanwhile are most likely to have full leather seats. The standard 8 inch display will remain as has been as will most connectivity options such as USB ports, Bluetooth power outlets. Navigation systems will remain optional on all models except top tier models on which it will be a standard feature. Bose eight and ten speaker audio surround systems will be standard and upgradable as preferred by the buyers. The top models of this wonderful car will offer a DVD rear seat system with Blu-ray compatibility and dual eight inch screens.

2017 Cadillac XT5 Engine

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque and is joined to an eight-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available on all trims except for the base and is capable of sending 100 percent of its power to either the front or rear wheels. Power can be further apportioned to individual wheels, depending on traction needs in rain, snow, ice or other surface conditions.

New 2017 Cadillac XT5 is to be a 3.6 liter V-6 as is standard in most mid-size crossovers. The vehicle’s predecessor, the SRX, still has the same engine. The latest engine model upgraded would be a refreshed powertrain and an updated V6 capable of generating much more power than the 308 horsepower and 265 lb. /ft. of torque the current model delivers. It may be possible that a smaller turbocharged v6 2.7 liter engine might be an option on the lineup, if not in the initial release then likely later on. The new model will be offered in a six speed automatic transmission and in front and all-wheel drive that is likely not to change in the present term.

Cadillac offers the all-new XT5 luxury crossover in four trim levels including the base XT5, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum models. Power comes from of a 3.6-liter V-6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. EPA-rated fuel economy is 19/27 mpg city/highway with front-wheel drive and 18/26 mpg with all-wheel drive. Towing capacity is a maximum of 3,500 pounds, and rear-seat legroom has improved by 3.2 inches compared to the SRX.

The standard powertrain for the 2017 model year is a 3.6-liter V-6, making 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It’s actually not the one that’s used throughout Cadillac’s sedan lineup, but a new V-6, paired with an 8-speed Aisin automatic that’s responsive, but nicely damped in its shifts. As such, the XT5 is quick and responsive, but doesn’t feel like a performance model in any way.
