2016 Porsche Panamera Release Date

Based on a new, advanced rear-drive and all-wheel-drive platform, dubbed MSB, the Panamera will incorporate multiple weight-saving measures and an all-new family of V6 and V8 petrol engines that promise a muscular power delivery to cement the Panamera’s position as the world’s sportiest premium saloon.

The Porsche Panamera has never been a looker but the company is hoping to improve that with the next-generation model which was recently caught undergoing cold weather testing.

While the prototype looks instantly recognizable, designers have given the model more curvaceous body work and a redesigned rear end. We can also see an evolutionary front fascia, ventilated front fenders and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

The template for the new Panamera is based on the technical and design advances introduced on the latest 991 series of the 911, which incorporates six different material types including magnesium, multi-phase steels and aluminium
skin panels.

Since its first appearance, Panamera was a breathtaking vehicle. Porsche recorded selling numbers way ahead of their plan, so that was the best indicator to continue with development of this vehicle. No radical changes are expected for 2015 year model, but 2016 Porsche Panamera could start new generation of the vehicle. New architecture is mentioned as well as platform. Engine lineup will be just slightly modified.

New platform means new materials used for building new Porsche Panamera. Lightweight aluminum and high-strength steel will make most of these. Aluminum will help 2016 Panamera’s diet, while steel will add necessarily strength in crashes. Weight lose by using these materials won’t be significant, since dimensions of the vehicle will remain the same. However, new Porsche Panamera will get some boost in fuel economy, especially if we know that current hybrid version has 700 pounds more than petrol engine.

2016 Porsche Panamera Price

Pricing for the new 2016 Porsche Panamera has been set at $204,600 – $444,600 based on current exchange rates. If there are changes on the 2016 Porsche Panamera we will notify you as soon as possible, so keep follow our blog Newcarsuv.Com.

2016 Porsche Panamera Specs

Without the high proportion of aluminium structure and body panels, the latest 911 would have put on about 60kg, according to Porsche’s own estimates.

Porsche is also understood to be planning a redesign of the interior and moving some of the functions clustered on buttons around the centre console to a central touchscreen, a current trend in interior design. Evidence of this can be seen in our latest spy pictures, which are visible by scrolling through the carousel, and which include shots showing a less cluttered area around the gearlever.

Applied to the Panamera, these weight-saving measures are understood to ensure that its kerb weight stays at about 1800kg to 1900kg. This is despite a greater content of luxury equipment and a new, non-regulatory US narrow-overlap crash test championed by consumer groups.

2016 Porsche Panamera Engine

The 2016 Porsche Panamera’s new Volkswagen Group MSB platform and body will also be lighter than the current car’s, borrowing know-how gained in the development of the 991-series 911 to incorporate lightweight and high-strength aluminium, magnesium and other steels.

The result should be a lighter overall vehicle mass, though the introduction of additional standard equipment is expected to keep the kilogram savings beneath triple figures.

V6 and V8 petrol engines are likely to be offered along with V6 diesel and plug-in/hybrid powertrains, while a new dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission has also been rumoured to make its way under the Panamera’s bonnet to drive the rear wheels or all four.

Engine range for 2016 Panamera has not been announced yet. We are sure that this car will be offered in wide range of drivetrains, from V6 and V8 engines, petrol, diesel and also plug-in hybrids. Porsche recently introduced turbocharged V6 powertrain, so it is probable that new Panamera will use some modified version of this engine.

Engine options also remain unconfirmed but Porsche chief engineer Wolfgang Hatz has previously suggested the car will be offered with new V6 and V8 engines. There’s no word on specifications but the engines are expected to more powerful than their predecessors.
